Beatles Wedding – Liverpool Town Hall

We’ve had the honour of being placed on Liverpool Town Halls preferred supplier list. We’ve done dozens of weddings at this amazing venue over the past 5 years and Sarah and Dec’s Beatles themed wedding is up there with the best of them.

How they met…

Dec and Sarah went to school together in Birmingham. Dec said he always knew she was the one, he even wrote in her year book “if you ever feel like getting married look me up”.  It was 13 years later they met again and fell in love…. but why have a couple who work and live in Birmingham set their hearts on a Liverpool wedding? It was their shared love of The Beatles that brought them together. Dec proposed to Sarah at the Hard Days Night Hotel and a year later they decided to host their wedding there. As you can see the day was filled with fun and laughter…

The details…

Liverpool town hall hosted the ceremony followed by the reception at the Hard Day’s Night Hotel a short walk down the street. The Beatles details where there in abundance, Sarah had hired a VW Beatle as the wedding car, a friend had custom made vinyl records for the order of service, each table in the dining room was decorated to represent a different Beatles album. The details went on and on…. instead of signature frame guests left messages in gold pen on a replica Beatles guitar, the sweet cart had Beatles themed sweets (including “John Lemon Drops”), the wine was ‘Beatles Wine” and of course there was a Beatles Tribute act in the evening who were phenomenal.

A special mention should go to the wedding cake which has to been to be believed… good job I took some photos of it. It was all the colours of the rainbow inside.

The photos…

Sarah had an ambitious plan to visit all of their favourite locations in Liverpool for the alone time shoot. Honestly I didn’t think we’d manage to do it but we all jumped in to the VW Beatle and set off with only 45 minutes before they had to be back for the wedding breakfast.

The first stop was Saint Nick’s church…. a favourite amongst brides as you can get an amazing shot of the Liver bird in the background. We, of course, had to get a photo with the Beatles statue at Pier Head. This involved running across the road and queuing with the Japanese tourists for our turn. Next on the agenda was a visit to Sarah’s dads canal boat. Yep you read that right, he spent a 5 day journey travelling up from Birmingham through the canal system and right into the heart of Albert Dock. Amazing! A few quick photos and we were over to the dock wall to lock a custom made padlock to the chain fencing. Lastly we headed over to Matthews street for photos with John Lennon and the Cavern Club. When we were planning the shoot I asked Sarah to bring trainers and it’s a good job I did, FYI they looked amazing as with everything for this wedding she’d gone the extra mile and had some converse customised.
